Favorite Travel Memory

As a Potterhead (a fan of Harry Potter), I geeked out when I studied abroad at Oxford University’s New College. There is a scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where Draco Malfoy is turned into a ferret, which was filmed in the New College Cloisters. I also toured Christ Church College, which was not only used to film multiple scenes in the movies but was the inspiration behind Hogwarts’ Great Hall.

Fun Fact

I won Reading Rainbow’s Young Writers & Illustrators Contest for the kindergarten grade level. Almost 30 years later, I went on to write a children’s book, Genny Sees the Eclipse, which raised just under $30,000 for non-profit animal shelters.
